The author & story behind Blessed & Gifted Hands
Born in California and raised between Louisiana and California, Dionna Hunter is a creative entrepreneur, artist, and visionary based in Atlanta, Georgia. At 35 years old, she is the founder and CEO of Haus Dionna, an umbrella brand that includes Blessed & Gifted Hands, Michelle Bailey Logistics, Brakes by K&D, and the fashion brand Pay to Tap.
Dionna’s passion for art began at an early age. Around the ages of five to seven years old, her papa introduced her to drawing and taught her how to shade. He often painted scenery and landscapes, and she remembers watching him recreate paintings inspired by the legendary painter and television host Bob Ross. Those childhood moments became the foundation of her creativity and planted the seeds for the artist she would later become.
She later rediscovered and deepened her love for art while attending Haughton High School, where creativity became more than just a hobby—it became part of her identity. Dionna went on to attend Northwestern State University with dreams of pursuing an art career. Although she eventually left college, it was not from lack of intelligence or ambition. Dionna realized early that her true passion was creating, not following a traditional path or working for others.
After college, a meaningful connection with her former college sweetheart’s mother, Marla Levine, reignited her artistic passion. What started as drawing a portrait of her soon turned into creating portraits for her clients, reopening the door to Dionna’s natural gift. Though life eventually caused her to step away from art for a period of time, creativity found its way back during one of the most transformative seasons of her life. Following her separation, painting became therapy, healing, and purpose all at once. Through that process, she recommitted herself to her craft and began seriously building and elevating her business as an artist.
Today, Dionna is known for her bold creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, and determination to build a lasting legacy through both business and art. Her faith is central to her life, and she attends the World Mission Society Church of God, where she believes in God the Father and God the Mother.
Through every chapter of her journey—from Louisiana classrooms to California experiences and ultimately building her life in Atlanta—Dionna continues to turn pain into purpose, creativity into business, and vision into reality.
